GENERAL INFORMATION
This modern sports center located on an area of 101.700 square metres in Datong, China and was built by CCDI and POPULOUS in 2019.
It's located in the central area of Yudong , near Wenyu Lake.It's consists of four main buildings:Stadium ,gym, swimming pool and extensive training hall.It's often used for national competitions.When the sports center was completed ,the lack of sports and training facilities in the city of Datong has been removed.
The outer shell of the stadium is like the pattern of Yungang Caves.There are 30.000 seats in the stadium.It's divided into four floors:The basement is the stadium ,the athletes facilities ,the indoor training ground ,the shooting range ,as well as other operational,storage ,equipment and other backcourt functional spaces.The building's architectural shape incorporates the athlete's physcial strength.The ground floor is 2 stories above ground and can accommodate approximately 8.000seats.
The design concept of the swimming pool mainly emphasizes the powerful movements of the swimmers in the water.
